Our Verdict

Our Verdict on DeleteMe

DeleteMe is a subscription in which Abine, Inc. files opt-out requests with data brokers and people-search sites on your behalf, then repeats the work as listings reappear. TTML's review is based on DeleteMe's pricing, international and coverage pages and its Terms of Service, read on 11 October 2026; no account was opened and no removal was observed.

DeleteMe sits in the privacy & security space and is best suited to people who know their address and phone number appear on people-search sites and want recurring removal without filing each opt-out themselves..

This is a research-based review. We have not run DeleteMe as the primary tool for a live business ourselves, so we do not publish a numeric score. Everything below is based on the vendor's public documentation, pricing pages and the wider professional consensus.

Full Review

The complete DeleteMe review

DeleteMe is a paid subscription in which Abine, Inc. submits opt-out requests on your behalf to data brokers and people-search sites, then repeats that work through the year as listings reappear. It suits US residents who want a recurring, done-for-you version of a task they could do themselves but rarely keep up with. It does not erase you from the internet, and its own terms say so.

Editorial Transparency
This review is research-led. It is based on DeleteMe's own pricing page, international page, published broker list and Terms of Service, read on 11 October 2026. TTML has not opened an account, submitted personal data or observed a removal, so no turnaround time, removal rate or report quality is claimed from first-hand use. Statements are labelled as the vendor's where they are the vendor's.

The problem DeleteMe addresses

Data brokers and people-search sites assemble profiles — names, addresses past and present, phone numbers, relatives, ages — from public records, marketing data and other brokers, and publish or sell them. Most offer an opt-out, but each has its own form, verification step and re-listing behaviour, and records commonly return after a later data refresh. The work is not difficult; it is repetitive, and that repetition is what DeleteMe sells.

How the process works

  • You submit the details to remove. After sign-up you fill in a profile of the names, aliases, addresses, phone numbers and emails you want suppressed. (Vendor description.)
  • DeleteMe staff search and file opt-outs. The terms grant Abine a limited power of attorney to submit opt-out requests, sign opt-out documents and create accounts on your behalf where a broker requires it.
  • A first report. DeleteMe states a detailed report arrives within 7 days, followed by quarterly privacy reports. (Vendor claim — not observed by TTML.)
  • Repeat scans. Removal work continues through the subscription, and new opt-outs are added to the programme during the year at no extra cost. (Vendor claim.)
  • Custom requests. Sites outside the automated list can be requested individually; whether they are actioned depends on that site's own policy.

Coverage: read the broker list carefully

DeleteMe's sites page headlines removal from 969 data brokers (list dated 17 September 2026). That number is not one uniform coverage list. Each entry carries a marker: some are included in the Standard plan, others only in higher business tiers or the VIP plan, some only in international plans, and a large share are marked as custom requests. In TTML's count of the published list on 11 October 2026, more than half of the entries carried the custom-request marker. The headline figure therefore describes sites DeleteMe has worked with, not what a Standard subscriber gets automatically. DeleteMe itself argues that list size is not the best measure of a removal service, and we agree: what matters is whether the brokers that actually show your data are in your plan.

Plans and pricing (verified 11 October 2026)

DeleteMe's US Standard plans are sold by term and number of people. Prices below are as displayed on joindeleteme.com/pricing on 11 October 2026, and are marked U.S. residents only and automatically renewing unless cancelled:

  • 1 person: $129 billed annually, or $209 billed every 2 years
  • 2 people: $229 billed annually, or $349 billed every 2 years
  • 4 people (family): $329 billed annually, or $499 billed every 2 years

A separate Premium plan and business plans exist; we have not verified their prices. Prices change — check the current figure on DeleteMe's own page before buying.

Countries

DeleteMe's international page lists Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Singapore, Spain and the United Kingdom (checked 11 October 2026). International plans use a different broker set from the US plans, and the US Standard prices above do not apply outside the US. We have not verified international pricing or how coverage depth compares by country.

What DeleteMe cannot do

  • Its terms state it will not remove all of your information from the internet, and that it cannot guarantee third parties will honour requests.
  • It cannot delete Google results directly; it targets the source sites Google is indexing. (DeleteMe's own FAQ.)
  • Government and court records, news articles, social posts you published, and data held by companies you do business with are outside the data-broker opt-out model.
  • Coverage depends on each broker's opt-out procedure, which changes; the list can shrink as well as grow.

The privacy trade-off

To opt you out, DeleteMe must hold your identifying details and pass them to the very brokers you want to leave — its terms say so plainly, and say Abine cannot control how brokers treat that data once sent. DeleteMe states it will never sell the information you submit. That is the bargain with any removal service; give it only the data it needs to match your listings, and read the privacy policy before signing up.

Cancellation and refunds

Under the Terms of Service you can cancel at any time by email or phone. Cancelling before your first DeleteMe privacy report entitles you to a full refund; after that, a prorated refund for the time remaining. The service is for adults (18+), for themselves or for a minor in their legal care.

DeleteMe versus doing it yourself

Manual removal costs nothing but time: find each listing, complete the broker's form, verify by email or phone, then check again months later. For someone with a handful of listings and the discipline to recheck, that is a reasonable choice. DeleteMe makes sense when the volume or the recurrence is the real problem — several family members, frequent moves, or a public-facing job where an exposed home address carries real risk.

Where it fits alongside other privacy tools

Data-broker removal, network privacy and credential security solve different problems and do not substitute for one another. A VPN such as NordVPN or Proton VPN protects traffic on untrusted networks; it does nothing about a broker already publishing your address. A password manager such as 1Password or NordPass protects accounts. DeleteMe addresses the published-profile problem. Alternatives

Incogni, Optery and Kanary are the other consumer removal services readers most often weigh against DeleteMe. TTML has not yet reviewed them, so we make no claim here about which covers more brokers or costs less; compare their current broker lists and country coverage directly against the sites where your own data appears.

Who should — and should not — buy it

  • Good fit: US residents, households and people with public-facing roles who want recurring, hands-off opt-outs and will read the reports.
  • Consider carefully: readers outside the listed countries, or anyone expecting removal from search results, social platforms or public records.
  • Probably skip: people with very few listings who are happy to file and recheck a small number of opt-outs themselves.

Methodology and limits

Evidence class: vendor documentation review. Verified facts are taken from DeleteMe's published pages and Terms of Service on 11 October 2026. Statements about report timing, satisfaction and broker outcomes are vendor claims. TTML has not tested the service: the score on this page is a research-based editorial score under our standard methodology, not a measured result, and the page's structured data carries no rating. DeleteMe is an affiliate partner of TTML; that relationship did not shape the score or this assessment.

Verdict

DeleteMe is a clearly documented, long-running service for a narrow, real problem: keeping your profile off covered US data-broker sites over time. Its pricing is published, its terms are unusually candid about limits, and cancellation is straightforward. The headline broker count needs reading with care, and nothing about it removes you from the internet as a whole. If recurring opt-outs are a chore you will not keep up with, it is a reasonable service to evaluate.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions
