PUBG is unusual among battle royales for how far its packets routinely travel. Regional matchmaking pools are large, and during off-peak hours players get drafted across borders — an Indian player pushed to Singapore, a Turkish player pushed to Frankfurt, an Argentinian player pushed to Miami. Each of those routes traverses several ISP backbones, and any single backbone hop can be congested during peak local hours.

The visible symptom on your line is not raw high ping — a 120 ms cross-region route is playable if it is stable. The problem is jitter and single-hop packet loss that fluctuate with backbone load. A well-implemented route optimiser can move your session off the congested exchange onto a private backbone and cut jitter without changing the average ping much.
